http://huff.to/cD5pBq The BP oil spill has received attention from entrepreneurs and innovators who are eager to offer their expertise. One solution comes from TMT Corporation out of Taiwan. The company’s ship, which it uses for operations, was revamped with intake valves to suck in oil from the oil spill. The tanker is much larger than the ships currently working on the spill and can contain 250 times the amount of oil as the next largest ship. The surface of the oil spill can be cleaned up sooner than anyone has thought possible if the tanker sucks in enough oil to fit in 500,000 barrels on a daily basis.
The CEO of TMT Corp, Mr. Nobu Su, met with the coast guard yesterday, to map out the oil skimmer’s trial run through the gulf. The CEO saw the oil spill as an opportunity to re-design his ship because he believes companies in the free market are the ones who are in a position and have the resources to address environmental issues. With a little luck, Su will be given the okay, and with a little international help, the problem will be behind us.
