High speed aerodynamic accelerator nozzles like the rocket boosters that propel rockets into space could be used as a filtration device. The high speed rocket nozzles pressurize all material passing through them, which makes them useful for freezing undesirable material such as CO2 in coal plants. Placed in the right places in these plants, the nozzles would freeze the CO2 before it could escape into the atmosphere. The CO2 would turn to dry ice which could then be stored for other uses.

Perhaps the rocket boosters could be installed elsewhere. It may be impractical but what if cars were redesigned with technology that froze the harmful emissions and another piece of technology that trapped them and could be removed and disposed of after each trip. Maybe some other sort of technology will come about that freezes and stores all harmful emissions. What sort of capabilities would such technology require? Could such technology have an untapped market?
