The ARID Navigator finds available parking Tags: Some parking lots in Barcelona, Spain are using sensors, located in each spot on the pavement, which signal whether or not a space is occupied. The sensors transmit the information to an online source, where the data for the parking lot is aggregated and sent to the indication panels in the street that give drivers the most up-to-date information on vacant spots. To make this information available to drivers prior to arrival, University of Barcelona students have created a device called the ARID Navigator, which communicates directly with the sensors. It will reveal what spots are available and how to get to them. City officials and the student team agree that this system will improve traffic management in urban areas and reduce “agitated traffic.” Do you agree? All Votes
